We are not used to all this blue! BOY, BOY, BOY!!!!

We had a family shower for Britt at my Grandma's house in South Jordan on Sat. Here is the gift me and Mya made for baby Cooper! Mya has the girl version of that puppy and some Minnie Mouse PJ's that match Cooper's Mickey ones! They will be so cute together! Mya LOVES her Aunt Brittney!
Here's my mom, my cousin Paige & little Gavin. Gavin LOVES Mya, except for she growled at him and made him cry! It was so funny. Nick was proud, he told her that's what she has to do to boys until she's 30! Dad's are so protective of their little girls!
Cute Britt, she loved the gift from us!
My mom would never let go of her if we let her. Mya is so good at making everyone fall in love with her right away! Nick came to the shower at the end and got some big smiles from Mya. She loves her daddy!
My whole extended family is so in love with her. They were all amazed at how good and beautiful she is. She got lots of love! This is my uncle Scott holding her and my grandpa feeding her some cupcake frosting...which she really loves! We have the greatest families, I love them all so much!
I thought you might want to see Britt's belly now....how gorgeous is she! She is getting to the point where you can see her belly move when he moves it is SO crazy. It reminds me of what you would tell us about Mya kicking your cell off of your belly! I even think she could rest her cereal bowl on there now.
After the shower we went to Nick's parents house and had dinner for his mom's birthday! Mya looked so cute I wish I would have taken the blanket off when I snapped this picture. My mom bought her the cutest little boots, they are white with fur on them...so darling. She had a long day of being LOVED by a lot of people!

Look at this strong little girl!

Mya is getting so strong! She is really good at sitting in her little purple bumbo chair. She can hold her head straight up without it bobbing all over the place. It is so crazy to look over and see her actually sitting up her own...it's funny! She's getting so big and strong!Could she be any cuter!!!

So thankful for this little angel!

This is Mya getting ready to go to Grandma Jarrett's house. It has been so cold lately so I got to put her cute beanie on. She was so smiley and happy!
When I put her in the swing this day I couldn't believe how much she has grown, she used to take up such a small part of it. Now she takes up the whole thing! Our little girl is gettin big!
My mom bought this outfit for her. She looks so grown up in it and it is nice and warm.
She was the first one ready for church. She sat out and talked herself to sleep!
She has had a cough the past few days and sneezing so she has been sleeping a ton. I think her body is trying really hard to sleep off whatever bug she has. Poor little thing! Other than her cough, sneezing and tiredness she doesn't act sick, she is still happy and good all the time!
Laying down on Sunday taking a nap with me!
Curious big blue eyes!
So BIG! When I say that to her and spread her arms apart she giggles!!
This picture was taken right after I made her laugh so hard she threw up a ton of milk! We had to strip her down and put some new clothes on. Her laugh is the best thing ever.
Here she is mid sentence. This little one is a talker. For the last couple days she doesn't just talk she screams, not because she is upset she's just figured that she can control the volume in her voice or something. The louder the better, it's so funny!!!

National Adoption Month

White ribbon stands for adoption awareness.....just found that out!

This is Mya with my cousin Deja
Here she is with my cousin's Deja and Ambree, they are sisters. Gavin is about 6 weeks older that Mya. (He is Ambree's son) This was the first time they had all met.

Deja is one of my best friends, she lives in Louisiana with her hubby right now and runs a blind program at Louisiana Tech. so I don't get to see her much. She came into town for a few days and we drove to West Valley Sunday to see her. She has been dying to meet Mya. We have been through a lot of the same stuff so we just really get each other, she is quite amazing! Deja and her hubby may be headed down the same path that lead us to adoption. I am so thankful that we have had such an amazing experience with you and Mya. Nick and I both feel like we want to be a positive voice for adoption because it really has been the greatest thing we have ever done. I am thankful that we can try and maybe help others to see that it's a great option.  We believe that it is such a major part of Heavenly Father's plan and at this point we feel blessed to have it a part of our plan. It was good to see my cousin and tell her how amazing you and Mya are. Thank you so much once again for all that you have done for us. We don't know what we would do without you two. You have made us into very big fans of adoption.

Interesting.....

Mya
mya\ as a girl's name is a variant of Maia (Greek), and the meaning of Mya is "great; mother".

Mya's Birthstone - Ruby
The ruby, mostly due to its red color, has long represented emotions such as passion and love. The red color's association with fire is also said to be linked to everlasting love. The ancient Hindus considered the ruby to be the most valuable of all gemstones.

Nick sent me the top description of her name and I got interested as to what her birthstone was, so I looked it up. I thought it was kind of fun to know so I wanted to share it with you. This is the kind of nerdy stuff I do at work when I can't get her out of my mind!

Video at the hospital

This is a video our caseworker took. We just got it from her today when we went in for a visit. It makes me cry every time I watch it. It is such a special thing and we thought that you might like to see it! It's crazy to hear her newborn baby cry. Her cry has changed so much since then.....she is MUCH louder now! I just remember being so scared to pick her up I didn't want to break her, she was so tiny. That little cry just breaks my heart! We plan to get a video camera soon so hopefully we will be able to start posting videos of her more often. This one is very special, we're glad our caseworker was able to catch this moment. Enjoy, we sure love you!

Mya's first Halloween!

Happy Halloween!!
We loved how her hair stuck out the front of the cherry hat!
Look at those monkey toes! This is one Nick took during the day before they came to visit me at work, looks like they were having fun like usual.
I dressed up as Wenda Waldo from "Where's Waldo" for work and won 3rd place! Here's Mya coming to Trick or Treat at my office! Everyone at my office was so excited to see her, especially since I talk about her non stop!
Here we are all dressed up and ready to go! Nick made the perfect nerd, Louie loves his bee costume and Mya was the cutest little cupcake!
Here we are visiting my mom and dad, she did not love that hat but my dad was making her happy enough for a couple pics with it on!
This is at Nick's parents house, she was a little more used to the hat by this time!
Here she is on the ride up to Nick's parents house....so tired! The traffic was a nightmare so it took us awhile to get there!
This is Austin, Bailee, Carter & Sami Mya's cousins, they were so excited to see her. They all looked awesome in their costumes too. Kids are the bomb!
Little Mya.....how cute is she!

This is a basket Nick's mom put together for her and my mom got her the cute little spider headband! Grandmas are the BEST!
Busy busy Halloween! We made our way around to both families so that everyone could see how cute she looked. You all of a sudden become super popular when there's a cute baby involved!! We had a blast dressing her up, she's so stinkin cute! She was a real trooper the whole night and then had a slight melt down before bed :(. Nick and I had fun dressing up too. Nick's nerd costume was awesome and so fitting. I enjoyed being a Waldo, those books were my favorite when I was little. All I can say is kids really do make everything more fun! We had a great Halloween!!!!!!
