We have 3 family birthdays on Nick's side in April so this is Mya sitting with Bailee at our Jarrett family April birthday bash!! She loves hanging with her cousins.

Here is her new pool, it was too cold the day I got it to put her outside so we just played with it inside the house. She had a blast!

Bath time is still a afavorite activity for her! Thank heavens she is such a water baby, that is the one thing I really wanted my kids to be ok with is the water!

Since her 9 month update I gave you this little monkey is already changing so much more. She now has 6 teeth and 1 more on the way. I honestly can't believe how fast her teeth are coming in. She is pretty miserable right now. I have never seen her this moody before....it's sad. Nick and I are both pretty wiped out by the end of the day, she is too! She is also now crawling on her hands and knees. She can only go a few steps and then she gets frusterated cause she wants to stand. Yesterday she pulled herself from sitting to standing up against the couch by herself! It is truly amazing how fast she learns things. Her new thing is she points and says "whats that" or "whats this" it is so funny cause she has a major lisp. I wondered how she learned that until I stared hearing myself talk to her, we always put things in front of her and say "whats this" and then we tell her what it is. I think it's funny because she has always been so curious....since the time she was born according to you. It fits perfectly that her first phrase would be a curious question. She is awesome!

A walk to Bridal Veil Falls

This is a little overlook of the Bridal Veil Falls waterfall. Britt and I took the babies on a 6 mile walk to this. We started at the bottom of the canyon and went on the trail all the way up! It was so much fun, the babies loved being outside.

I love spending time with Britt, we always have so much fun! We are seriously goof balls and we just laugh at each other for all the stupid things we do! :) She is my BFF!

I know this is a weird picture and  you can't even tell that there this is a steep hill off the paved trail.....but there is a story that goes along. We had one of the scariest experiences of our lives right here!

Ok so at the risk of sounding like an idiot I am going to tell you what happened on our way back from Bridal Veil Falls. We were going along about half way back talking about the good times and bad times of being new mommy's. How hard it is to know what to do all the time and how scary the world is getting. Brittney is deathly afraid of bees and bugs. We walked through a part where there were bees everywhere she had 3 bees on her and that wouldn't leave so we started running to try and get away from them. Well in the midst of running Britt's front stroller wheel started going all weird and she ended up letting go of the stroller to swat a bee. I was watching this from beside her so I screamed at her because the stroller was going weird and I could tell it was going to go off the edge of the trail.....and it did. So I went to go grab the stroller for her and while doing that I tipped Mya over.....yeah not good. Luckily for Mya she was strapped in and I had a cover over the front so she pretty much stayed put just tipped. Brittney in the meantime has jumped over the edge and is going down the little hill with Cooper's stroller because it is all gravel and hard to walk on without slipping. She was yelling for help so I picked myself up off the ground flipped Mya's stroller upright and jumped down the hill to help Britt and Cooper. I was able to lean up against a tree pick his stroller up and lift it to Britt after she had climbed back onto the trail. I had so much adrenaline I felt like the hulk! Then I jumped back up because Mya was crying, I had scared her pretty bad......poor little thing! I got her out of her stroller and gave her a big hug and she immediately stopped crying. We got Cooper out and he also stopped crying once Britt was holding him, he had a few scratches but that was it.  I was so glad that they were both strapped in and had covers over them for Cooper it really saved him from what could have been an awful accident. We stayed there for a few minutes and just hugged the babies and cried....it was really scary! Poor Britt she felt so horrible. I guess this is all part of being a new mommy. Not the first time I have done something stupid and most likely not the last. But man in the moment it made me realize that there is nothing I wouldn't do for those babies. Also I have always thought I would be a mess in crisis, but I really wasn't I was able to focus and help before I fell apart. We were pretty shaken up and still had about 2 miles to go back down to our car. We jogged most of the way just to get out of there! I think we must have had some angels with us that day :) Nick claims I always have to use my guardian angels cause I am accident prone, they are probably really tired from saving my butt all the time! Both babies are fine and we have been back up on the trail. We are more careful and I think either of us at this point would take a million bee stings before allowing our fears to potentially hurt our babies!

This is my mom's mom and dad. They live in South Jordan not too far from Nick's parents house. We took the babies up there to see them last Sunday and they had a blast! W found out Cooper is allergic to the grass and came home covered in a rash...it was pretty sad!  My grandparents are the ones that have a condo in St George that we all love to go down and stay in. That's where we are going this weekend. They are the cutest most active couple ever. They're hilarious!

A dream come true

Today I am grateful for the many Mothers in my life....

My Mom - she is the kindest most loving person I know. I was lucky to have her raise me and be such a great example to follow cause I think she is one of this worlds most amazing mothers. She is the BEST Grandma to Mya and we love her so much.

Nick's Mom - Nick is the sweetest, most patient man I have ever met. He is a wonderful loving husband and the greatest daddy to Mya. Just being around him proves what an awesome mom he had. She is always thinking of us and does so much. Mya loves her to death and so do we.

Your Mom - We look at you, what you have been through, what you are doing now and I know you wouldn't be there without your wonderful mommy! We love her for the way that she raised you....she has to be pretty amazing! 

Your Birth Mom - We are grateful for a tough selfless decision that was made 19 years ago when she placed you in such a wonderful home. 

You! - You are so young and have been through so much already in life and yet you are so strong and faithful. We will always admire your strength and courage. Without you we wouldn't have the most precious thing in our lives...Mya. We love her more and more everyday Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us something so special. 

Last of all I am sooooooooooooooooooo thankful today to be a mommy! Honestly I have said it a million times in my head today. I am a mom, I am a mom.....wow I can't believe I can say that! I am not sure my brain has been able to fully comprehend it yet. I have sat a lot today and just thought quietly about how blessed I am to have this opportunity. I remember the pain that came with waiting what seemed like an eternity. But the wait is over, my time to be a mom is finally here and I know that Heavenly Father had this plan from the beginning.  Becoming a mom through adoption has been an incredible experience, I wouldn't wish for anything different.  I also spent some time thinking about all the people who are still waiting and wanting this very blessing. I think I must have said a million silent prayers today for those people. So many of them are good friends and family. How did we get so lucky to have the BEST baby and the BEST birth mom ever! The smiles, laughs, hugs and kisses from Mya make even the hardest times worth it. Being a mom for me is truly a dream come true. Thank you for being a part of that!

Here we are at the Thanksgiving Point tulip festival. We came with Brittney, Derek & Cooper it was a lot of fun! Again it was so cool to walk through the gardens and remember what we were doing at the last tulip festival....wishing for a baby!

9 months old!

9 months old...that band aid on her leg is from her Dr. visit. She is a pro at shots now. I am pretty sure it is harder for me to watch her get them than for her to actually get the shot! :)

We take SO many pics of her I think she is starting to like to pose for the camera!

The flash on the camera was really bright and it was making her giggle like crazy!

She was being so funny in these she was getting right up at the camera and trying to take it from me! Look at those cute little teeth!

Can you believe that at this point she has now lived with us as long as she was in your belly! Crazy!

About 2 weeks ago she started crawling.....it's almost like an army crawl but man she can get around quickly!! It's crazy all the things she can get into now. Nick caught her taking all the DVD's off the shelf. Pretty funny!

Nick is always making her laugh! She is such a sweetie!

Things that she is doing at 9 months....

- Army crawling (She chases Louie all over the place)

- 4 teeth...2 on the top and 2 on the bottom

- Makes fish faces

- Talks ALL the time. Mom, Dad, bobba and other stuff that sounds like a foreign language

- Feeds herself real food like cheese, bread, pizza, chicken

- Gives kisses to everyone including the dogs

- She can make all kinds of funny noises (she will mimic almost any noise we make) 

-  Plays pattie cake

- Her favorite is to shake her head no to anything you ask her!

- She also loves to turn Nick's computer off....while he's working

- She can pull herself up to a standing position while holding our hands

- She can take steps while standing

- She can get up on her hands and knees, but doesn't really know what to do from there yet

- She can get herself from sitting position to laying down

- She goes from laying down to sitting...this one she just mastered yesterday

- She screams...not cause she is sad but literally just because she can. She is SO loud

- She is to the point where she is afraid of strangers

- Loves pushing buttons

- Likes when we read to her

- Great at being a sweetheart and a diva
