Look what we did!

This is a dresser that belonged to Nick's Great Grandma. Nick's mom gave it to us for Mya. I love it they just don't make furniture like they used to, I had a great vision for it! Refinishing old furniture is one of my favorite things to do so I was really excited about this project!
Here's me being a dork! Nick bought me a new sander and watched Mya the whole time that I worked on this. We did it right before he went back to school when he actually had a little free time!
All sanded down and ready for paint!

Mya came out to watch me for a bit, we gave her some smarties and she had a blast watching me and eating.
I can't wait until I can teach her to paint and draw. She will be my little craft buddy, just like I was for my mom.
The color I chose is called kiwi splash, it is like a light chocolate chip mint ice cream looking color. I LOVE it!
I like to distress furniture or antique it so after I paint things I sand the edges and put glaze or stain on them.
Ta da.....I love how it turned out! It is so girly and pretty. Mya will be able to have this in her room for a long time. Plus it is so cool that it belonged to family and is being passed down to her. Maybe she can pass it on to her first daughter.
We got new knobs and put new glass in the mirror and it looks perfect!
My mom needed some things to hang on the walls of the room she did for all the grand kids. She bought me some canvas and let me have fun with it!
Mya helped with this one by putting her hand prints all over it! She loved having me paint her hands, by the end she was a real pro at it! My mom loved what we did for her.
This is a little painting I did for Mya's room, inspired by you!.Mya loves to color while I paint so we have had a lot of fun being artsy the last few weeks.
